Do You Need Some Assistance?

We all need a little help sometimes. The Society of St. Vincent de Paul exists to help to people in need. Here in the Anchorage area and elsewhere, St. Vincent de Paul offers a wide range of basic-needs assistance to people struggling with poverty, unemployment and underemployment. The Society tries to do that in ways that honor the dignity every human being deserves. For eligible people in need, the kinds of assistance offered include:

  • Food when you’re having a hard time making ends meet (up to every 30 days)
  • Medication when you have a doctor’s prescription but can’t afford to get it filled (no narcotics)
  • Clothing through a voucher to be used at one of our stores (once in six months)
  • Furniture through a voucher to be used at one of our stores (once in five years)
  • Housewares and linens through a voucher to be used at one of our stores (once per year)
  • Other Assistance including help with energy assistance, rent and portable cribs for infants
